Prayer Hands

Ricky & I have taught Isaiah to fold his hands together during prayer. I am just amazed at how he soaks up information. He is learning so many new things every day. It makes me think about how I want to raise him, what I want to teach him, but more importantly how God wants me to raise him & what HE wants me to teach Isaiah.

I have been thinking a lot about this lately & I want to make sure I do everything I can to raise & disciple Isaiah (& future children). I want our children to know & love God more than anything in the world. I want to help them learn who God is, know scripture, to be able to give an account for the hope that is within them. "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander." 1 Peter 3:15-16. I only have one chance to raise the children God gives me. I was reading another blog tonight & learned that I must seek God, read scripture & dig in MYSELF to figure out how God wants me to raise our children. I don't need to get a list from someone else on how to parent my children. Of course, advice from others is great & many times very useful, but I need to be going to God first. Others second. I haven't been doing that so far. I ask myself why? God knows Isaiah better than I ever will. HE MADE HIM! "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." Psalm 139:13-16

So, here comes a huge journey of faith, studying, listening & obeying. I am determined to do the will of God & I know He has called me to be a godly wife & mom. To be a home-maker. To be an example of Christ's love.
