Hillary tagged me to post my top 5 or 6 quirks. I'm like Hillary: I don't usually do these kinds of things, but I have been thinking about mine for a few days now & with the help of Hubbs, here they are:
1. I am a texture freak when it comes to food! When I was little, if my parents gave me homemade mashed potatoes, I wouldn't eat them because of the lumps. They used to give me tapioca (sp?) pudding and I would pick out all of the little lumps in it. I hate yogart with chunks of fruit. If I am eating chicken and hit that wierd, firm/tough piece in the breast, I will immediately stop eating it. I'll throw it away because I am so disgusted. I hate soggy food, so no cereal with milk, cake with ice cream, etc. I can have cake with ice cream but they have to be on a different plates or on opposite ends of the same plate. This is a bit contradictory to the whole soggy food thing: I LOVE oreos dipped in milk...I think that might be the only soggy food I can eat. And then, you have to look at ~ is it really soggy with the cream filling? I don't think so. :)
2. I love bags! Not shopping bags, ziplock bags, or gift bags, but purses, bookbags, diaper bags, etc. Growing up, I ALWAYS had to get a new bookbag! I would buy multiple ones per year if my parents let me (as it was their money, until I started working). Once I was old enough to buy my own bags, I started collecting purses! Ever since Isaiah was born, we have been through 4 diaper bags. I think all of the different bags meet certain needs I have for that particular day. One day, I might be in a really organized mood, and need a more organized bag. Another day, I might need a huge bag to fit all of my stuff in and organization doesn't really matter much, so in that bag, there aren't a lot of compartments. Then on another day, I might be dressing up and need a more dressy bag, which typically is smaller, so I have to be more organized...anyway, you get the point.
3. I am a wierdo about hair. Mostly, I hate it. I love the hair on my head, but body hair ~> EW! If I could get rid of all of the hair on my body except for the hair on my head and my eyebrows, I would! Talk about getting ready quicker in the mornings! ;) I don't mind my husbands hairy arms and legs, but when he goes to kiss me, if he has stubble on his face, I hate it. It pokes me. Usually, I say something, he runs to the bathroom and shaves it off (atleast around his mouth), and then tries to kiss me again. This time I let him. :)
4. I love talking with people, but I hate talking on the phone. I will text, email, and talk face to face all day long, but if someone wants to talk on the phone... I will avoid it at any cost. Usually this is because I cannot hear people very well on the phone. A lot of people mumble, or talk really fast, or talk VERY quietly. I hate having to repeat myself over and over (which I should start getting used to now that we have Isaiah and want more children) and I hate having to ask "what?" all the time. With cell phones, the signal is in and out randomly, and to get cut off by a signal failure is very annoying. Then you have to call the person back, and figure out what was said last. Annoying? Yes. :) Especially if you're in my moms house: It's a dead zone... apparently, we need Verizon Wireless. ;) Sometimes I hate talking on the phone because I'm afraid of getting caught for an extended period of time. If I'm going to talk with someone for a long time, I'd rather be hanging out with them if possible. It's so much more meaningful to me. :) If I'm talking with someone on the phone, it's very easy to get distracted by other things that need to be done, like chores around the house, getting the dogs out, checking my email/facebook, etc. I want to be a good listener, and me getting distracted isn't helping that. So, I'd rather just text (most of the time very reliable), email, or talk in person. :)
5. I'm a neat freak, but you wouldn't know it by looking at our home. We're working on that! ;) I LOVE to have my stuff nice and neat. There isn't much that is better than having a nice, clean, presentable home or car. I have the hardest time keeping it that way though. I don't like spending a lot of time cleaning up and organizing, but I'm learning that I have to spend the time to get my space the way I like it.
6. I like to use smiley faces when typing. :) (If you haven't noticed, lol.) I feel like it lets people know my mood while typing. If I'm sad, I usually include a :( face. Most times it's faces like this: :) :D ;) ;D See, aren't they fun?? Didn't you smile?!?! :D
